With the order mandating shelter in place restrictions until May 15th in Delaware and until further notice in Pennsylvania, many businesses considered non-essential are closed during the COVID-19 crisis. Stein Tree Service has been classified as essential due to some of the types of tree care work that we do.
These essential tree care services fall under the following categories.
For public safety and the safety of emergency or repair workers, the areas around power lines, utility access areas, roads and other infrastructure must be kept clear of vegetation and tree interference.
Trees that are at risk of falling, have branches that come near power lines or structures, or have dead branches that could fall onto structures or people present a danger to the public. Tree removal, deadwood removal and risk-related pruning are considered essential tasks to sustain public safety.
Pests can endanger the health of the trees in communities and cause danger of falling if the trees fail due to pest damage. In addition, some pests, like the spotted lanternfly and the emerald ash borer spread quickly from tree to tree and if left untreated, can cause the death of countless trees. This risk is both physical and financial; the emerald ash borer has caused billions of dollars of loss in the United States.
Safety is our # 1 Priority. Please be safe! We may be unable to perform all tree care tasks at this time, but some of the jobs we do are dangerous for those without experience and the proper equipment. For tasks such as this, play it safe and we will schedule your services as soon as we are allowed to do so.
For jobs that we do perform, we are taking precautions to prevent unnecessary exposure for our staff and our customers, both on the job site and in house. All employees are monitored for health each day.
The COVID-19 situation is still evolving, and the shelter at home restrictions could go on longer than currently anticipated. We will continue to monitor current events, and work to maintain the safety of our customers and the Stein Tree Service family. Contact us for information or to schedule your necessary tree care services in Delaware and Pennsylvania.
